I can honestly say. These headphones compete with REAL headphones. ATH-M50's, Grado Sr60i, etc etc. I can honestly tell you these are some great sounding headphones. If your looking for the typical Skullcandy Bass, look somewhere else. There is a roll off on the bass and a warm tilt through the mids. Treble is not harsh what so ever. Throughout the range, all of the notes are articulated. No more boomy bass, recessed mids and highs, you get actually decent sound!

There was only a few problems for me. The earcups would not drop down low enough which baffled me because there were more stops available when fully extended. So I had to bust out my DIY skills and mod the cups to go lower.
Also, these don't isolate. Practically Semi-open although intended for closed use. So again I had to mod away placing Plasticine on the baffle to get the seal that was originally intended.
After all that, smooth sailing. I prefer the plasticine on the baffle to stock because of consistent positive slope throughout the frequency response.

I actually got the older version with the nylon sleeving. It lasted me a better part of a year. They are the best sounding IEM's skullcandy makes. The only step up is to get Aviators, otherwise you wasted your money.

is the Skullcandy Aviator compatible with Sony-Ericsson's Smartphones?
I've planed to buy a Skullcandy Aviator, but i don't know if the mic and also the remote is compatible with my Smartphone Sony-Ericsson Xperia Ray? Thank you for your answer.
Ususally the mics will work. Controls vary though. Sometimes your lucky, other times you got screwed.

Is it real or synthetic leather?
Synthetic. Real leather would cost about $80 a pad. I don't mind the synthetic, but if you want real leather get something from Dennon, Beyerdynamic, or Stax.
I don't know of any real leather pads that would fit the Aviators.

Can the Aviator headphones be compatible with a smartphone that is not a part of Apple?
Yes, but the controls could be different or not functional at all. Typically across the board, the inline mic will function on any smart phone.

The Cap?
Has the cap of the headphone (the sunglasses part) cracked or can?
I'd be more worried about scratches. If that breaks, I assume skullcandy won't send you replacements because its your fault. Also the material used isn't optics grade polycarbonate, but your run of the mill plastic. I have many polycarbonate sunglasses and one lens is denser than the lens on the Aviators and the Aviators scratch much more easily.

I want earbuds that i can wear snowboarding and not worry they are going to get ruined if they get wet. What would you recommend?
You can theoretically use any headphone in wet conditions. As long as they headphones don't have electricity run through them and they are dried completely before reuse, any headphone will work. Titans are just durable and sound good, but no different than any headphone in wet conditions.

Yes, Titans are the best. Coming from a Audiophile and a Audio hobbyist. I only recommend 2 headphones from skullcandy. Titans and Aviators. Those are the only good ones.
