Is it like an actual speaker or is it like an oversized earbud?
if i use it in class will everyone else hear the music or will i just hear it?
i think that will depend on how loud you listen to them, and if your teacher will let you have your hood up. They are a speaker about 2 inch around, not and ear bud.
